On thursday, my group and I traveled all the way down to UITS for what I thought was a good experience. The offices that we saw all were packed with MAC and PC computers and tons of people. The man who spoke to us was very nice and gave us tons of information. At UITS, specifically the section that we were at, besides just answering any user questions, they help to improve the websites we used.
Specifically, the man spoke about projects they had done enhancing webmail, oncourse etc. Since our group is doing google maps, he even said he knew of someone who had worked to put a google maps feature through the IUB website.
Also, there was a “test” room that had a one sided mirror in which UITS used to test users on different software/computer compatibility tests. This could be very helpful for our project because we could see how users react to googlemaps while actually browsing. Overall, this trip was interesting and a good experience to help start up our project.
